Critical Praise for The
Hiveborn
from
Heartland Reviews
At last, science fiction that
would be competitive with that written by the masters of 30 to 40
years ago. Hiveborn, the third and last book in the Earthborn
Wars series. There is a little of Star Wars mixed with the
Night of the Living Dead and the Body Snatchers in this
book about a time in our future where survivors of an earthly
holocaust, a cultic spaceborn group, and people taken over by alien
parasites vie to win over the others and create a new day and a new
way for planet earth’s human population. The key is which one will
gain ascendancy? The action and pace are relentless, the characters
unique and believable, and the technologies are predictable. We
rated this excellent novel by its award-winning Australian author
five hearts.

The third installment of
Australian author Paul Collins' "The Earthborn Wars" series, The
Hiveborn is an exciting science-fiction adventure. In a
post-nuclear disaster Earth, human factions hunt one another. One
survivor of two worlds - raised as a Skyborn, befriended by an
Earthborn militia, only to later discover that his Skyborn existence
was saturated in lies and deceit, an outcast Welkin Quinn and his
confederates, called "the family", are caught in the midst of a new
threat from the stars. The Hiveborn, an alien race controlled by the
unifying force of the Hivemind, seeks to crush not only human
autonomy but that of all life in the universe. A terrible war for
survival threatens "the family" as surely as the human factions that
have tried to exterminate it, in this exciting and fast-paced saga
of conflict. Also highly recommended are the previous two volumes of
"The Earthborn Wars" series, The Earthborn and The Skyborn.

Two
avatars travel east, hoping to shed the responsibilities laid upon
them by their murdered god . . . A sildin general leads a small band
of assassins south, intent on securing the borderlands before
mounting his own military coup . . . A young woman, displaced by
civil war moves deeper into the Blue Mountains, seeking vengeance on
those who killed her family and destroyed her home.
They come with separate missions and
secret motives, yet all their paths are inexorably drawn to the
gateway that is the Wistrix Donn. Beyond the gateway lies the
greatest mystery of all—a mystery that may consume them all.
